Bridging Course for CPP50711 Diploma of Access Consulting
This ‘Bridging’ course provides students, who have attended the 'face to face' component of the CPP40811 Certificate IV in Access Consulting, the opportunity to gain the CPP50711 Diploma of Access Consulting by completing additional required units of competency. These additional units relate to the provision of advice on access to the built environment, as well as services and programs for people with a range of access challenges, including people with disabilities, older adults, emerging Baby Boomers, parents with prams and families.
Building on the key units of competency from CPP40811 Certificate IV in Access Consulting, the bridging course provides learning that supports a more in depth theoretical and practical knowledge of access interpretation and application, particularly relating to the built environment.
The bridging course provides the basis for a comprehensive understanding of the reasons behind the legislation and standards– the Whys of Access’ - relating to the function and use of buildings, facilities and services. This is critical when planning, designing, developing, certifying and managing the built environment to support access for everyone.
The course is particularly relevant to government officers, building industry personnel, designers, architects, occupational therapists, certifiers, owners and managers of buildings and facilities and of course emerging and experienced access consultants.
