IATA Access Training
The Institute of Access Training Australia (IATA) is registered training organisation and provides professional development and training in ‘Access for All’. This is aimed at people with responsibilities for ensuring equitable access is provided, to all services, facilities, communications, events, information, employment and the built environment, for people with disabilities and a range of access challenges.
The Institute of Access Training Australia (IATA) is the training division of Access Audits Australia (AAA), leaders in disability and barrier free access consultancy, auditing and training services, successfully providing services to a wide range of community, government and business organisations since 1993.

Access Education and Training
IATA provides professional development and training for people wishing to gain and / or upgrade their skills and knowledge in relation to understanding, identifying and addressing an extensive range of access issues.
IATA programs offer education and support to people who are responsible for developing, facilitating and implementing Disability Access Policies and Action Plans as well as undertaking access appraisals of premises including buildings, streetscapes and outdoor spaces.
IATA professional development program leaders and trainers are drawn from a range of qualified trainers and access professionals who have been delivering professional development training programs in access improvement for over 20 years and are recognised leaders in the access industry. IATA team members have extensive knowledge and experience working with government, community and business sectors and have been recognised for their contribution.

Certificate IV and Diploma in Access Consulting
We are currently developing the Training Resources aligned with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) in order to deliver nationally recognised Units of Competency in the Certificate IV in Access Consulting and Diploma of Access Consulting. We are currently delivering the first Units of Competency, in line with our very successful 2 day Certificate in Access Appraisal - Buildings, course that we have been presenting Australia wide. We are aiming to present the first complete Certificate IV in Access Consulting early in 2011.

This highly regarded access course is ideal for people who have responsibility for reviewing, planning, designing, managing or maintaining buildings, as well as those who are required to provide advice to others regarding access issues in the built environment. These issues can incorporate those experienced by people with disabilities and other access challenges including users of wheelchairs, scooters and prams, as well as people with vision and hearing impairments and cognitive issues.
The course provides a framework for participants to undertake an Access Appraisal of a building and covers the essential key components of access to buildings.

New Seminar - Standards Update 2010 - Available into your organisation
The Access to Premises Standards 2010 were tabled in Parliament on 15th March 2010. It is expected that these Standards will be introduced in line with the 2011 Building Code of Australia. They will mean significant change in the requirements for access for new and upgraded buildings in Australia. In addition updates to AS 1428.1 and new AS 1428.4.1, AS 1428.5 and AS 2890.6 have all been introduced.
What do they mean? What will they cover? How will they work? What will professionals need to know? What changes have occurred?
This 3 hour Seminar will provide an overview of all these Standards, an update of their current status and a practical perspective of how they will be applied.Seminar fee $140.00 plus GST per person.
